Invisible Join (mid work)
Whilst the amigurumi method of crochet (working in continuous spirals) is great there are times when joined rounds are best. Joined rounds keep the height of each round even and can make colour change rows look clean. However, using the traditional method of slip stitching into the first stitch of the round can create a visible seam which distracts from your work. The invisible join method prevents this seam and helps to keep your work smooth and even throughout.
How to - Invisible Join (mid work)
1. When you have finished your final stitch, draw up your loop and remove the hook.
2. Re-insert your hook, from back to front, and facing towards your final stitch, into the stitch you wish to join.
3. With the wrong side of your work facing pick up your final stitch, tighten loop and pull through.
4. Remove your hook, being careful not to twist the stitch, reinsert so you are facing the right direction. Continue with pattern.
